5 Achievements You Must Complete Before Legion

Warlords of Draenor Achievments

With the forces of the Burning Legion on our door step we still have a roughly two months to finish up any outstanding Warlords of Draenor achievements. Keep in mind, that once Legion arrives, people will be burning through the new content which will leave a lot of Draenor a ghost town, making a lot of achievements that much trickier to complete. Here are my top 5 achievements I’d recommend completing before the Legion expansion hits.

1. Divide and Conquer

Kill 5000 enemy players anywhere outside the Road of Glory within Ashran.

Once legion is here, I wouldn’t expect too many people will be lining up to get in to Ashran. This will mean that, what is already a time consuming achievement, will become painstakingly slow, if not impossible. For Divide and Conquer you need to earn honorable kills outside the Road of Glory. The Road of Glory is the main road that leads between the Horde and Alliance bases within Ashran. The best time to collect the 5000 kills you’ll need is during the events as the five event areas are considered to be off the road. This achievement took me quite a while so I’d recommend starting it as soon as possible if you haven’t already.

2. Defender of Draenor

Get 5000 honorable kills in Draenor.

This achievement is pretty easy if you’re also targeting Divide and Conquer as you simply have to earn 5000 honorable kills in Draenor. Bottomline, if you tick off Divide and Conquer, you’ll have this one ticked off as well.

3. Bounty Hunter

Loot all the following off Horde/Alliance player corpses

Like Divide and Conquer, Bounty Hunter is also Ashran based and includes a frustrating ‘RNG’ element. So not only does there need to be enough opposition players to kill in Ashran, you also need to be lucky enough to loot an item off each race. I believe the Forsaken Brains were bugged for quite a while too, which is also what made this one frustrating for me, but putting that aside, this still has the potential to take a long time. The less opposition in Ashran, the longer it will take.

4. The Last of Us

Become the last gladiator standing at the Highmaul Coliseum.

WoW Lord of War Title

Technically a Feat of Strength, The Last of Us requires that you have a Level 3 Gladiators Sanctum in your Garrison. Once you have this building you can then queue for the Highmaul Coliseum instance, which is basically a free for all, last person standing, PvP battle. If you’ve done the Darkmoon Faire Deathmatch or Gurubashi Area in Stranglethorn Vale you’ll be familiar with the concept. Around 20 people enter, and one person emerges victorious, crowned the winner and awarded the title Lord/Lady of War.

Once Legion hits, I’m not sure home many people you’ll see queuing up for this one (if it’s even left in the game) so now’s the time to smash it out. Word of warning, this can be a frustrating achievement, as now in particular there are premade groups going in and ‘selling’ the achievement. Personally I got lucky and did it the old fashioned way, but there are a lot of horror stories around this achievement. Check some of the comments of the WoWhead entry for examples, but the 7 hour Discipline Priest vs Discipline Priest stand off does not sound like a good time.

5. Warlord of Draenor

Complete all of the Nemesis quests at the Gladiator’s Sanctum and the quest Fight, Kill, Salute! at the Highmaul Coliseum.

The mother of all Draenor PvP achievments. To knock this achievement off your list, you’ll need a level 3 Gladiators Sanctum in order to complete the quest Fight, Kill, Salute! at the Highmaul Coliseum. The Nemesis quests are also picked up from the Gladiator’s Sanctum and involve earning 500 honorable kills (technically 501) of each opposing faction race. If you do this properly, this can take a very very long time. The Pandaren alone took me six months. I’ve seen people ‘selling’ this one in trade also, so depending on your server, and how comfortable you are with not personally achieving your achievements that may be an option for you.

Conclusion

So that’s it, my top 5 achievements you must do before Legion. I decided to go with those achievements that might fly under the raider and leave out the obvious Ahead of the Curve/Cutting Edge raiding achievements as most people would know that, by their nature, they are impossible to achieve once the next expansion arrive, eg. Defeat Archimonde on Heroic difficulty or higher, before the release of patch 7.0.
